Black paper invites a different kind of expression – one that begins in shadow and reaches toward light. Instead of working from light to dark, I reverse everything: highlighting shapes with brightness, letting the darkness become space. It creates a sense of depth and contrast that’s both bold and poetic. I often turn to black paper when I want to strip things down, to work with glow, edge, and silence.
